Trying Something New

I decided last week that since I knew I was going to be moving forward with another IVF after I got my test results back that I was going to look into trying acupuncture. Well today I went ahead and called a clinic and I have my first consult on Thursday. I'm actually kind of excited about it. It's going to be kind of pricey, but at this point I'm willing to do anything to improve my chances. AF still hasn't shown up yet, which has me bummed. I feel like I'm always waiting around for my body to catch up to what my mind wants to do. It's so freaking ridiculous sometimes. I think if I read CD40, I may call the RE and ask for some promera. Anyways, not much else going on. Just waiting around, as usual.

  1. I wanted to let you know that starting acupuncture last July was one of the best decisions I could have made! I believe it has helped me to be where I am today and I hope it helps you too! I found it so relaxing and such a great stress reliever.

  2. Ooooh, let me know what you think of it. When we do our FET for our embryo adoption I am seriously thinking about trying it. I've heard only good things from other people.

  3. Acupuncture is WONDERFUL... I tried it in conjunction with this last round of IVF, and I truly think it helped to keep my stress level down and my emotions in check. It's like scheduled relaxation/nap time.... never a bad thing!

Also -- got my first BFP from that round of IVF-- my first ever. Am 7 weeks 4 days today!

Praying that you'll have a great experience with your acupuncturist, and that you'll enjoy it! The costs can add up --- but do ask if they have any sort of "IVF special" --- I know some will give a discount to those who have to come in pretty often for 3-4 weeks or more. (ex: A girl whose AC charged $75 regularly lowered her cost to $60 since the girl was coming in twice a week for appointments for 4 weeks straight). It never hurts to ask!

Praying that things go well for you with this round~

  4. Horray for Acupuncture!!!

Melissa you are going to LOVE IT. Even one of my local bloggy friends who was terrified of needles is now hooked on it. Sometimes I'd leave acu feeling better than after I'd had a massage.

Seriously, regardless of whatever physical benefits it provides, the mental and emotional peace it brings is worth EVERY penny!

Can't wait to hear what you think!

  7. Hey Melissa! I hope you find the experience with acupuncture a good one, especially given all of the waiting. Waiting is not fun.
